NOAA/DOC Adobe Contract Licensing Program
|
CONTRACT
COVERAGE
Announcement
The Department of Commerce is eligible for Contract Licensing Program (CLP) Level 2 pricing through August 30, 2009.
DOC/NOAA has entered into a CLP Membership Agreement with Adobe Systems, Inc. that names four Authorized License Centers (ALCs) as GSA-Authorized resellers to sell Adobe software products at discounted prices.
What Does This Mean to You as a NOAA/DOC Employee?
You can buy Adobe and Macromedia software products at significant savings by using a purchase request through your procurement office or directly using your Government purchase card. Additionally, any one of the 4 ALCs can also sell you, at GSA schedule pricing, any Adobe products not available via the CLP.
• Adobe now offers Macromedia products through CLP licensing. View the Government Discount Level Calculator to see the full list of products.
• Adobe’s Electronic Software Download (ESD) website is available for all Adobe and Macromedia products ordered through the CLP.
A word about software maintenance plans.
Maintenance plans are available for each software product. It pays to purchase a maintenance plan when you buy your Adobe product. If a new version of the software is released during your period of coverage, you pay $0 for the upgrade.
Adobe has now implemented a "fixed" schedule for purchasing maintenance plans.
In order to get the most months of coverage out of what you paid for, since purchasing maintenance is now tied to a date, you should purchase as close to the start date (in bold) of the period of coverage as possible.
If purchased between 02/02/2008 through 08/01/2008 (applied as 6 months) coverage expires on August 30, 2008 (anniversary date).
If purchased between 08/02/2008 through 08/01/2009 (applied as 12 months) coverage expires on August 30, 2009 (anniversary date).
Adobe will send existing customers e-mail announcing new products or upgrades as they become available.
A word about Section 508 compliance. Adobe supports the Government's initiative to provide 508 compliant software products. Visit Adobe's Accessibility home page, a resource designed to help people with disabilities work more effectively with Adobe software, and help content creators use Adobe software to produce content that is accessible to as many people as possible.

GETTING
THE LICENSED SOFTWARE PRODUCTS
Can I order online?
Each Adobe ALC supports a customer account website for purchasing products. Please work with your ALC sales representative to establish an account to access online services.
How do I obtain the CD installation media after I purchase my Adobe software?
After you purchase your software products, Adobe will process your order and e-mail you a customer ID and password for the secure Adobe ESD website. You download your new software and serial number from that website.
Department of Commerce customers may distribute Adobe products from a DOC-internal network server, per Adobe's End User Licensing Agreement (EULA). This saves users the cost of purchasing CD installation media. The EULA also allows Department of Commerce customers to duplicate the CD media for licensed end-users.
Please verify with your systems administrator to ensure that your software licenses are legally-valid (new purchase with paid maintenance coverage or previous purchase with current maintenance).
